Bob Briest Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bob Briest of Knoxville, Tennessee, born in Ilion, New York, who passed away on October 25, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Milfred Briest and Arlene Briest; and his sister Betty Briest Dysart. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Briest; his children, David Briest (Debbie) and Tanya Briest Tallent (Tim); his brothers, Milfred Briest (Ruth) and Tom Briest (Cindy); his brother-in-law David Dysart; his grandchildren, Robbie (Evelyn), Garrett, Daniel and Salina; and his great grandchild Lily.

A graveside service was held on Friday, October 31st 2025 at 8:30 AM at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (2200 E Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920). Visitation was held on Friday, October 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the West Park Baptist Church (8833 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, TN 37923). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 31st 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.

“Tanya, although I did not know your father, I know that he must have been a very special , loving man of God as i have seen you and your family reflect that joy through the years. I am so very sorry for the unexpected departure of your father and I think of your mother, especially - May God’s love surround her, you, family and loved ones.
