He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Sands and Beatrice Sands. He is survived by: his siblings, Stanley, Jimmy Sands and Lillie Walker; his niece Charity Sands; and his nephews, Chucky Walker, Randy Reece and Joshua Sands.
