He was predeceased by: his wife Rita Caldwell; his parents, Theo Caldwell and Beulah Caldwell; and his brother Theo Caldwell III. He is survived by: his sons, David Michael Caldwell, Robert Stephen Caldwell (Felicia) and Sean Michael Caldwell; his grandchildren, Mollie Caldwell and Christopher Caldwell; his siblings, Daniel Caldwell (Mary) and Lorraine Bagnall (John); and his sister-in-law Martha Caldwell. He is also survived by other family members and friends.
A reception will be held on Friday, November 13th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McCarty Evergreen Funeral Home (7426 Asheville Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37924). An entombment will be held on Saturday, November 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Lynnhurst Cemetery (2300 Adair Dr, Knoxville, TN 37918).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Volunteer Honor Guard in David's memory.
