It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Byerly Fox of Knoxville, Tennessee, who passed away on August 28, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Ermon Homer Byerly; and her husbands, William Claude Fox (Bill) and Knoxville Chief of Police. She is survived by: her mother Eva Lena Byerly; her children, Vickie, Mary and Bobby; and her grandchildren, Lori Lowe, Jason Lowe and Hunter Fox.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to be made in her memory to organizations that support mental health, a cause that remained close to her heart throughout her life and career.
