It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Embry Duane Gary of Knoxville, Tennessee, who passed away on February 9, 2026, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Embry Gary and Annie Louise Gary (Carpenter); his siblings, Robert Harold Gary, Sue Betty Cunningham (Gary), Sara Jean Taylor Thornburgh (Gary) and Mary Ellen Ward (Gary); and his son-in-law Donnie Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Gary (Harrell); his children, Jeff Gary (Lisa) and Lisa Gary Smith; his grandchildren, Holly Gary, Paul Gary, Rory Smith and Marly Smith; and his siblings, Wallace William Gary (Bill), Linda Louise (Gary) and Langston (Jackie). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
