She was predeceased by: her parents, Ford E. Owen Sr. and Mary Lloyd Owen; and her brother Ford E. Owen Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Harry Cate; her nieces and nephews, Shelly Owen Snell (Jason), Heather Owen Byrd, Teresa Owen Thrasher (Ben), Chloe Cate, Mike Leyva (Barbara), Victor Leyva, William Cate (Brandon) and Tripp Owen (Amy); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Luke Ferrando, Sydney Ferrando, Harper Byrd and Benjamin Thrasher; her siblings-in-law, Phyllis Owen, Carol Cate and Bill Cate; and her friends, Karen Owen, Rose Sheedy, Laura Honaker and E. T..

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cedar Lane United Methodist Church (714 Cedar Ln, Knoxville, TN 37912). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
