He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Trish" Lykins of Knoxville, TN; his children, Eric Cannon (Lindsay Cannon) of Knoxville, TN and Valerie Kate Mayo (Jess Mayo) of Texas; his grandchildren, Charley Rose Cannon, Murphy Claire Cannon, Harper Brigman-Mayo, Olivia Mayo, Brayden Brigman-Mayo, Ronin Brigman-Mayo and Javi Mayo; his brother Albert "Ossie" Cannon Jr.; his nephew Albert Cannon III of Knoxville, TN; his brother Fred Cannon (Cathy Cannon) of Knoxville, TN; and his cousins, Susan "Susie" Lemons of Knoxville, TN. and Darlene Lemons of Knoxville, TN..

Ties are strongly discouraged!Hugh's interment with military honors will be held at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (2200 E Governor John Sevier Highway) on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. In honor of the values that Hugh held, the family asks that you do something kind for a stranger or donate to the benevolence fund at FCUMC in Hugh's memory in lieu of purchasing flowers.
