He was predeceased by: his mother Elizabeth Smith; and his grandmother Verda Brooks. He is survived by: his wife Teresa Leigh Brooks; his children, David Brooks (Paige), John Thomas Brooks, Derek Brooks, Jackie Brooks (Leah Moses) and Jennifer Graham (Joe); his sister Teresa Pendergrass (David); and his nephews, David Walker and Terry Walker. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren.
