Though James may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Hays; his son David John Hays (Alison); and his grandchildren, John David, Charlotte and Garrett.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in James' memory to the Young-Williams Animal Shelter, in honor of his faithful companion and best dog, George Nelson.
