She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver Yarnell and Lizzie Kelley Yarnell; her husband Freels Scates; her son Donny Scates; and her siblings, Bobby Ray Yarnell, William Ray Yarnell, James Yarnell, George Yarnell, Charles Yarnell, Ervin Yarnell, Margaret Watson, Emogene Yarnell, Lillian Tucker and Lucy Setzer.
She is survived by: her daughter Jacquetta Scates; and her nephew Mike Scates (Kimberly).
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mynatt Funeral Home, Powell Chapel (2000 Powell Drive, Powell, TN 37849). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery (5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919).
