It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janice Ray Smelcher of Knoxville, Tennessee, who passed away on December 7, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Fowler and Ophelia Fowler; her children, Lisa R. Muse and Scotty Smelcher; and her siblings, Paul Fowler, David Fowler and Rose Ann Jansky.
She is survived by: her children, Steve Smelcher (Lisa), Jana McCarty (Mark) and Dara Chadwell (Andy); her grandchildren, Blake Simpson, Brooke Simpson, Amaris Chadwell, Amanda Hopson, Ashley Muse and James Muse; her great grandchildren, Elliot Simpson and Jayda Sliger; her siblings, Ronnie Fowler and Diane Cooksey; her sister-in-law Jeanne Fowler; and the father of her children Jim Smelcher.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Holley Gamble Funeral Home -Clinton (621 S Charles G Seivers Blvd, Clinton, TN 37716). A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 1:15 PM at the Sunset Cemetery (630 Sunset Rd, Clinton, TN 37716).
