She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Theodore and Doris Mae Shumate (Hurst); her brothers, Larry, Herbert and Frank Shumate; and her brother-in-law Bobby West.

She is survived by: her daughter Beth Galloway (Mike); her siblings, Mary Shumate West, Fred Shumate (Carolyn) and Ed Shumate (Brenda); her sister-in-law Mona Shumate; her grandchildren, Brittany Thacker (Clifford), Amanda Galloway (Justin Slover) and Tyler Galloway; and her great grandchildren, Hunter and Ezekiel Thacker. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
