He was predeceased by: his parents, Bess Tate and Grady Tate. He is survived by: his wife LouL Tate of Tate's School; his daughters, Paula Tate-Gunter (Don), Jodi Geschickter (Tad) and Tracey Van Hook (Jonathan); and his grandchildren, Andrew, Maggie and Mollie.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, December 18th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Erin Presbyterian Church (200 Lockett Rd, Knoxville, TN 37919).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Tate's School of Discovery Foundation (http://www.tatesschool.com) to continue helping deserving students.
