He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip Bakelaar and Vera Bakelaar (Nugent); and his brother Robert Bakelaar. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Bakelaar (Bush); his daughters, Anna Gennrich (Robert) and Joanie; his grandchildren, Nicholas Mackey, Brianna Staples, Victoria Webster, Philip Staples and Charles Staples; and his pets, Eli and Aaron. He is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren.
