He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lye and Margaret Lye (Pulford); his son John "Jay" Lye III; and his grandson Justin Grugin. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Pannell Lye; his children, Cheryl Grugin (David), Megan Senderak (Mark) of Glen Allen, VA. and Eric Lye (Angela) of Tampa, FL.; his daughter-in-law Kim Lye of Erie, PA.; his grandchildren, Kaitlynn Lye, Garret Lye, Nathaniel Grugin (Mikayla), Noah Grugin, Kyleigh Grugin, Sullivan Senderak, Ethan Lye and Matilda Senderak; and his sisters-in-law, Beverly Clark, Linda Schneider (Edward) and Patty Panell. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
