He is survived by: his wife Retta Smith Newcomb; his son Jeff; his daughter-in-law Theresia Newcomb of Lenoir City; his granddaughter Ashley Kennedy (Cristan); his great grandchildren, Addison, Mason, Bianca, Brionna, Britton of Clinton, TN and Lily Maltempi (Marc) of Knoxville; and his great great grandchildren, Noah and Miles Maltempi.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
