It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Paul Watkins of Knoxville, Tennessee, born in Johnson City, Tennessee, who passed away on January 14, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. John Watkins and Elizabeth Watkins; his brother James; and his siblings-in-law, George Morris and Betty Watkins.
He is survived by: his wife Susie Romines Watkins; his children, Steven Scott, Michael Paul, Ann Charisse Norris (Ty) and Daniel Franklin; his siblings, Philip and Elizabeth Morris (Libby); his sister-in-law Bonnie Romines; his close friends, Charles Seepe (Jo), Barbara Deal, Bill Hicks (Sandy) and Dr. Burkett Witt; his child Yuko; Naomi and Chisato. He is also survived by two grandsons and a great-granddaughter.
The University was put on hold for awhile due to illness and the pandemic, but hopes to restart in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Muroran Club of Knoxville for the Paul Watkins Memorial Scholarship to support student travel to Japan.
