She was predeceased by: her parents, John Miller and Edna Shepard Claiborne; her husband Dr. W. W. Knowles, Jr.; her daughter Melody Knowles; and her grandson Wayne Graham.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sherry, Jennifer and Candy (Bob); and her granddaughters, Natalie (Tyler), Josie and Layla (Ray). She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, in memory of Mrs. Knowles.
