He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Clinton Piatt and Helen Louise James Piatt; his former wife Chiyoko Kamizato Piatt; his sister Evelyn Kay "Dumpie" Piatt Coomer; and his son Robert Clinton "Clint" Piatt.
He is survived by: his wife Judith "Judy" McGill; his children, Stephen L Piatt (Madden Piatt) and Julie Burnette Lee; and his friends, Marvin and Nora Webb of Powell, TN.. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
