Roy Elmer Bernard Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Roy Elmer Bernard in Knoxville, Tennessee, born in Kingsport, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 6, 2026 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Bernard and Lila Bernard; his brother Phil; his parents-in-law, Bascom and Eliza Minton; and his siblings-in-law, C. B. Minton, Jr., Larry, Gary Minton, Lorraine and Lulabelle Minton.
He is survived by: his wife Della Minton; his daughter Patricia Ezzell (Tim); his grandchildren, William and Sophie Ezzell; and his sisters, Barbara Sue Oliver and Sandra Colley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family would like to extend thanks to the special folks who cared for Elmer at The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer's Center of Excellence, Tennova North Medical Center, and Sacred Ground Hospice House, all of Knoxville, TN.
