He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Branum and Lillie Branum; and his brothers, Bob Branum, Charlie Branum and Jimmy Branum.

He is survived by: his children, Bridget Collins (Gary) and David Branum (Shannon); and his granddaughter Candace Lyons. He is also survived by other grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many dear friends.
