She was predeceased by: her mother June Friday Scott; and her grandparents, Earnest, Alma Friday, Vannie and Lee Scott Sr..
She is survived by: her husband Kenneth R. Simpson; her father Lee Scott Jr.; her sister Ann Scott Marinello (Steve); her nephew Nicholas Marinello; her niece Elena Marinello; her stepdaughters, Julie Simpson and Wendy Dunford (David); and her grandchildren, Caleb and Skyler Dunford.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to either of the following funds: The Dr. Vanda L. Scott Alumni Endowed Nursing Scholarship, which was just established by the East TN Alumni Chapter in memory of Vanda.
