He was predeceased by: his parents, Eras J. Cope and Beulah S Cope; and his siblings, Aubry "Buck" Cope, James "Pete" Cope, Dale Cope, Jim Cope, Colleen Tolley, Libby Hampton, Sue Pruitt and Kathy Furr.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Cope; his brother Darrell Cope of North Carolina; his children, Gary Cope, Trish Cope and Brandi McCormick; the mother of his children Dawn Cope; his son-in-law Travis McCormick; his grandchildren, Hailey Baker, Jace McCormick and Camron McCormick; and his great grandchildren, Donna Moore and Tony Amos. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (2200 E Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bill's honor to the Wounded Warrior Project.
