He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Hurt and Eunice Hurt of Chattanooga; and his wife Mary Eleanor. He is survived by: his children, Maury Hurt (Margaret), David Hurt (Amy Medley) and Amy Trainer (Fred); his grandchildren, William, Charlie, Mary Margaret, Bela and Whit; and his friend Cheryl Ingle MacLeish of Orlando.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Rose Funeral (6200 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church.
