He was predeceased by: his son McKinley Kirby; his parents, Oscar Kirby and Ruth Kirby; and his siblings, Afton Kirby (Virginia), Lorraine Denton (Reece), Annette Huffaker (Jerry) and Charlotte Kirby.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Kirby; his daughters, Robin Kirby and Dr. Carolyn Davis (Robert); his grandchildren, Jessica Owens (Sam) and Dusty Smelcer (Traci); his great grandchildren, Jacob Owens, Sarah Owens, Dustin Smelcer, Emily Smelcer and Lindsey Smelcer; and his brother Wayne Kirby (Sally). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
