With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Nora Ragland Witmer (La Grange, Tennessee), born in Raleigh, North Carolina, who passed away on June 7, 2024 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George William Ragland and Helen Browning Ragland; and her sister Eve Ragland Williamson of Raleigh. She is survived by: her husband Wallace VanMetre Witmer; her children, Nora Browning Witmer, Wallace VanMetre Witmer III, Julie Witmer Smith (Bill), Eve Witmer Johnson (Brad) and Camille Chandler Witmer; her grandchildren, Edward, Nora, Baxley, Grace, Ava, William, Camille, Julie, Jimbo, Helen, Evie and Isabelle; and her great grandchildren, Walker, Banks and Ellie.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Immanuel Episcopal Church, P.O Box 21, La Grange, TN 38046.
