He was predeceased by: his wife Janey Lee McClanahan Trent; his parents, Vestle D. Trent and Lillie Mai Bergdorf Trent; and his siblings, Debbie Hawkins, Polly Woodard, Helen Mae Bush, Ricky Trent, Jerry Trent, Terry Trent and Carl Lee Trent.
He is survived by: his daughters, Tonya Smith (Joey) of Lafayette and Michelle Gregory (Mike Moore) of Lafayette; his grandchildren, Tyler Smith, Brayden Smith, Caiden Smith, Lexie Gregory, Taylor Gregory, Emma Gregory and Koben Gregory; his brothers, George Trent (Robbie) of Lafayette and Charlie Trent (Delores) of Lafayette; and his siblings-in-law, Evelyn Reid of Lafayette, Kathy Hogue (David) of Glasgow, KY, Robert McClanahan (Debbie) of Lafayette and Johnny McClanahan (Jackie) of Lafayette. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.
