He was predeceased by : his parents, John Daniel Barber, Sr. and Bettye Conley Lunn; and his siblings, John Daniel Barber, Jr. and Rebecca Elaine Barber. He is survived by : his wife Tonya Hosse Barber; his children, Josh Higgins (Ashley), Kelli Barber Avanzino and Patrick Barber; and his grandchildren, Bryson Higgins, Blaine Higgins, Emilia Avanzino and Lucas Avanzino.
