She was predeceased by: her husband Eddie Dean Hughes; her parents, Elbert Ayers and Joie Ayers (Leach); and her siblings, Brenda Marlow, Bruce Ayers, Tommy and Joan Ayers.
She is survived by: her son Kevin Hughes (Brenda); her grandchildren, Carmen, Jasper and Lilia; her brothers, Jerome Ayers (Geraldean) and David Ayers (Carolyn); her friend Pat Ray; and her caregivers, Delana and Olivia. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Walters Funeral Home - LaFollette (509 E Central Ave, LaFollette, TN 37766). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Walters Funeral Home - LaFollette Starts (509 E Central Ave, LaFollette, TN 37766). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Peabody Cemetery.
