He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert A. Hale and Virginia Hale (Nelson); his brother Clifford "Kip" Miller; his nephew Tim Ayers; and his brothers-in-law, Eugene "Cotton" Paul and Michael Starrett.
He is survived by: his sisters, Jerri Starrett of Jacksboro and Gail Paul of LaFollette; his sister-in-law Melanie Ulmer (John) of LaFollette; his nieces and nephews, Jared Miller (Aimee) of Washington, Bailey Miller of Jellico, Chelsea Dople (Kaleb) of Newcomb, Jenny Bowlin (Tanner) of Jellico and Long; and his close friend David Miller.
