He was predeceased by: his mother Freddie Crowder; his stepfather Swan Crowder; his siblings, Sharon Cardwell and Jack Cardwell; and his siblings-in-law, Carol Cardwell and Perry Cox.
He is survived by: his wife Vivian Joyce Cox Cardwell; his children, Sherri Cardwell Jones and Robert L. Cardwell Jr. (Mary); his grandchild Abby Cardwell; and his sister Swania Cox.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cross-Smith Chapel Cross-Smith Funeral Home (300 E Central Ave, LaFollette, TN 37766). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM and at 11:00 AM.
