He was predeceased by: his parents, Artis Spencer Smythe and Helen Joulese Smythe; and his siblings, Spencer Smythe, Ella Brown, Wanda Schwall, Ruby E. Hicks, Mary A. Smythe and Susan W. Smythe.
He is survived by: his wife Denille Daniel Smythe; his children, Ray Anthony Smythe, Jr. (Niambi), Latisha Smythe (Vernon), Joshua Daniel, Aalijah Daniel, Stephanie Daniel and Aaliyah Daniel; his siblings, Artaweise Hammonds (Bernard) and Thomas Smythe; and his grandchildren, Michael, Nateek, Ajani, Xaiden, Zoe, Xyaire, Namaari and Bryson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
