She was predeceased by : her parents, William Atkins and Christine Atkins; her husband Ronald "Herbie" Smith; and her brothers, James Atkins, Henry Atkins and Dean Atkins.

She is survived by : her children, Rhonda Smith Hester (Steve), Van Smith (Kim Davis Smith) and Michael Smith (Julia); her grandchildren, Jessica Hester Stutts (Brandon), Jennifer Hester Bowling (Josh), Jordan Hester, Amanda Smith Masters (Bobby), Lauren Smith Swift (Paul), Caleb Smith, Matthew Smith (Megan) and Brittany Lauren Rohling (Lawrence); and her sister Elsie Marklin. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 22nd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church (3375 Sango Rd, Clarksville, TN 37043). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, May 22nd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clarksville Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
