He was predeceased by: his wife Ruby C. Smith; his parents, Roy G. Smith and Ora Mae Barnes Smith; his son Johnny David Smith; and his brothers, Red Junior Smith and Tommy Smith.
He is survived by: his children, John Randall Smith (Stephanie) of Lawrenceburg and Debbie Newton (Jerry) of Lexington, AL; his grandson Wesley Troppello of Lawrenceburg; his brother Bud Smith of Lawrenceburg; his aunt Charlene Foust; and his caregiver Charity Mendeze of Lawrenceburg. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
