He was predeceased by: his wife Jewell Johnson Garner; his parents, John Wesley "J. W." Garner and Zadie Alice Glover Garner; his stepmother Ruby Harris Garner; his siblings, Golda Bassham, Elmer Garner, Osteen Garner, Grady Garner, Robert Garner, J. R. Garner, J. W. Garner and Homer Garner; and his sons-in-law, Ronnie McDougal and Billy Parker.
He is survived by: his daughters, Alice Parker, Brenda McDougal and Angelia Dover (Kenneth); his grandchildren, Cindy Stevens (Sean), Brian Parker (Suzanne), Rhonda Reeves (Brandon), Ronnie McDougal, Jr., Tonia Brown (Alan) and Melissa Garland (Joey); and his stepgrandchildren, Melissa Dover, Kimberly Dover, Quinton Stevens and Cameron Stevens. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Neal Funeral Home (231 N Military Ave, Lawrenceburg, TN 38464). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Fall River Church of Christ (8 Wilburn Mill Rd, Leoma, TN 38468).
