He was predeceased by: his parents, Eleanor Sue Bush Howell and Ollie Floyd Howell, Jr.; and his daughter Eleanor Elizabeth Howell. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jean Spetnagel Howell; his daughters, Virginia Howell and Rebecca Crew (Darin); his grandchildren, Eloise and Henry Crew; his siblings-in-law, Ted and Nancy Spetnagel; his nephew Allen Spetnagel; his niece Elizabeth Crowe; and his cousin John Floyd Howell.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at the Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens (654 W Division St, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 8th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the First Presbyterian Church (304 W Main St, Lebanon, TN 37087).
