He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Townsend and Eliza Galyon Townsend; his siblings, Teddy Ray, R. L. (Frances), John, Una Faye Walker (Herman) and Vera Jean Lowe; and his daughter Carol Simpson.
He is survived by: his significant other Evelyn Cupp Townsend; his daughter Robin Conlan (Jim) of Simpsonville, SC; his son-in-law Mitchell Simpson of Franklin, TN; his son Brian (Jo) of Brentwood, TN.; his grandchildren, Hailey Thompson (Drew), Madison Simpson, Austin Simpson (Nan), Luke Townsend, Jack Townsend and Olivia Townsend; his great grandchild Henry "Hal" Thompson; his siblings, Zola Stephenson and Melvin Townsend (Susan); and his sister-in-law Faye Townsend.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Fairview Church (1660 Leeville Pike, Lebanon, TN 37087). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Cedar Grove Cemetery (609 S Maple St, Lebanon, TN 37087).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fairview Church.
