He was predeceased by: his parents, Egbert Simmons and Nona Simmons; his son John Kevin Simmons; and his siblings, Doyce Simmons, Artie Simmons, Billy Simmons, Mary Helen Watts, Shirley Myatt, Marcella Moore and Guynell Fay.
He is survived by: his wife Ruby Simmons; his daughter Pam Hogancamp (John); his grandchildren, Jennifer Davis (Chris), Audrey Harrington (Jefferson), Aaron Hogancamp (Keri), Joshua Hogancamp (Tessily) and Makayla Spalding; and his siblings, Girlene Murphy (Eugene), Susie Gargus (Ben) and Sammy Simmons (Marion). He is also survived by eight loving great grandchildren.
