He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Benton Jr. and Mary Stanford Spears. He is survived by: his wife Ann Banks Benton; his stepson James Jeffrey Wren; and his granddaughters, Mercedes Allen (Devon) and Kasandra Wren. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
