She was predeceased by: her mother Nancy Jones Kent of Lebanon, Tennessee.; and her parents-in-law, John Mariko Msula and Dorcas Tabitha Oluoch of Gem Yala. She is survived by: her father Rev. Al Kent; her children, Joy Adhiambo Miller (Michael) of Tallahassee, FL, Job Onyango (Christina) of Knoxville, TN, Josiah Ochieng of Madison, AL and Joanna Dorcas Aluoch of Lebanon, TN.; her grandchildren, Jurias, Oliver, Eleanor, Lonnie, Henry, William and Michaela; her sisters, Alicia Hovies (Tom) and Janet Beam (Dennis); her sister-in-law Lillian Atieno Msula of Nairobi, Kenya.; and her husband Thomas W. Oduor.
