He was predeceased by: his father James William Sawyer; his son Christopher William Sawyer; and his grandparents, Dotson Elijah Sawyer, Sallie Mae West Sawyer, Felix and Anna Laura Pewitt.
He is survived by: his wife Caren Sawyer; his daughters, Felicia Sawyer and Andrea Sawyer (Jess); his mother Mary Agnes Sawyer; his siblings, Barbara Sawyer and Phillip Sawyer (Lynn); and his nephews, Eli and Will Sawyer.
