With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elsie Mai Smithson in Lewisburg, Tennessee, who passed away on September 16, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Grover C. Brown, Sr. and Ruby I. Lovett Brown; her son Tony Smithson; and her brothers, Grover Brown, Jr., Fred Brown and Curtis Wayne Brown.
She is survived by: her daughter Brenda Rice; her daughter-in-law Cindy Smithson; and her grandchildren, Jessica Griffith and Peyton Rice. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Jones Cemetery (1613 Bear Creek Pike, Columbia, TN 38401).
