He was predeceased by: his parents, James Wortham and Maggie Ball Wortham; his wife Mary Elizabeth Wortham; and his siblings, Agnes Cheek, Charlene Woodward, Ruth King, Betty Spray, George "Buddy" Wortham and Allen Wortham.
He is survived by: his daughter Jana Leverette (Tony) of Chapel Hill; his granddaughter Alizabeth Hoffman (Michael Campbell); his nieces and nephews, Janet Manire, Pam Davis, Connie Beshears, Debbie Phelps, Mike Wortham, Jerry King, Jimmy King, Jackie King and Ricky King; and his close friends, Robert Crowell (Alice), Steve Adams (Kathy), Steve Odum (Mary) and Paul Roberts.
