She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Clifford Garner and Myrtle Bassham Garner; her husband Ralph Chapman; her daughter Donna Dotson; and her brother Marvin Garner.

She is survived by: her sister Alice Daniel of Baker, Louisiana; and her sister-in-law Marianne Knight of Florence, Alabama. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
