In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Rilda had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Rilda may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Prater and Rachel Prater; her husband Tommy Austin; her daughter Annette Jones; and her son-in-law Shannon Wright.
She is survived by: her children, Meshell Steele (Glenn), Terry Austin (Twila) and Susie Wright; and her sister Nancy O'Brien. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the London Funeral Home and Crematory (324 W Church St, Lewisburg, TN 37091).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Senior Citizen's Meals on Wheels Program for Marshall County.
