With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Evelyn Lavern Eason in Lexington, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 15, 2026 at the age of 96. She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin F. Thomas and Bennie Mae Williams Thomas; her husband Riley "Doc" Eason; her daughters, Janice Gourley and Deborah Ross; and her siblings, Finis Thomas, Mary Butler and Oneida Stanton.

She is survived by: her son Larry Eason (Dianne); her sister Geninda Speer; and her grandchildren, Kevin Eason (Lisa), Kelly Pearson (Chad), Jennifer Huffman (Les), Jana Ross, Jada Taylor (Dave) and Adam Ross (Amanda). She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
