He was predeceased by: his wife Jan Thomas; his parents, James Claude and Betsy Beulah Pope Thomas; and his sister Martha Hay. He is survived by: his children, Laura Maupin, Jim Thomas (Brooks) and Rob Thomas (Lisa); his grandchildren, Michael Bohan, Jonathan Thomas, Taylor Thomas (Katy), Kate Hudspeth (Eric), Amelia Louwers (Nick), Leigh Lewis (Sam), Wes Maupin and Matt Maupin; and his great grandchildren, Ida Woodrow, Walker Woodrow, Linden Thomas, Nora Thomas, Owen Hudspeth, Summer Louwers, Isla Hudspeth, Charlotte Lewis and Mattie Lewis.
