He was predeceased by: his parents, Nevil Smothers and Beulah Rink Smothers; his sons, Johnny and Jeremy King; his great grandchild Nick Melton; and his brothers, James King and Mike King.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah King (Dave) of Medina, Tennessee and Jeffery King (Cindy) of Huntingdon, Tennessee; his sister Carolyn Camper of Lexington, Tennessee; his half-sisters, Connie Tate and Teresa Jordan of Jackson, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Julia King, Destinee Melton and Grace Taylor; and his great grandchildren, Clay Melton, Chance Redmon, Caylee Melton, Cailyn Melton and Ayden Melton.
