He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaac Garfield and Carrie Wiles Shelton; his close friend Larry Fender; his siblings, Maude Shelton Littleton, Irene Shelton Ripley McAmis and Lewis Edward Shelton; and his parents-in-law, J. D. and Betty Walton.
He is survived by: his wife Patsy Walton Shelton; his daughter-in-law Chris (Kim Dixon); his daughter Barbara Shelton; his grandchildren, Ben Dixon, Kristen Dixon and Ella Stakiel; his nephews, Jerry (Melissa Ripley) and Doug (Katy Ripley); his siblings-in-law, Earl and Mary Walton; his close friends, Cindy Gosnell and Saprina Fender; and his caregiver Roxanne Woodby.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Greeneville-Greene County Food Bank or to the Greeneville-Greene County Humane Society, both of which were very dear to his heart.
