Donnie leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Donnie’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Donnie will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John D. Slater (Estell Brown Slater) and Betty Cox Slater; and his son Michael Slater. He is survived by: his stepdaughter Janie Rogers (David); his brother Pete; his stepgrandson Justin Rogers (Jordan); and his stepgreat-grandsons, Chance, Hudson and Henry Rogers. He is also survived by A Host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, & Friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 23rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Loretto Memorial Chapel (110 N Military St, Loretto, TN 38469). A funeral service was held on Sunday, August 23rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
